adoption update: moving forward
Slow and steady wins the race right? We are definitely moving forward on the adoption front. This is just a quick update for inquiring minds who want to know. We are currently waiting for the final pieces of our application to be pulled together for our application to be complete. There is a doctor’s evaluation and I think one more recommendation yet to arrive on our behalf. When that is complete we will receive our “official invite” to our PAC (adoption classes). These will be Children’s Home in St. Paul, and they span about a day and a half. We are getting excited about it.
God continues to surprise us along the way. This whole process is exciting, yet heartbreaking. As we learn more about the country our little one is coming from, God continues to stretch our hearts. Let me tell you, the stretching can hurt. I’ve been reading a book called “There is No Me Without You,” by Melissa Fay Greene. It’s seriously been a book I can hardly put down. It’s all about the life of one Ethiopian woman who has made a big difference in the lives of the orphans in her community. Also, it takes quite a deep look at the AIDS epidemic in Africa, and explains a lot of the history behind it. If you are looking to become more aware, pick it up and read it.
That’s all for now, pray for us when you think of it. Pray that the turtles can keep moving forward!
