blogging absence: blame the self study

Greetings friends and family!  We haven’t posted much lately because we’ve been extremely busy working on the self-study portion of our adoption process.  Children’s Home Society and Family Services is a very thorough organization and we’ve written a combined 30+ pages of inner reflection and family planning.  Our goal is to have our completed self-studies, cultural worksheets, and transracial/transcultural parenting plan completed by the end of the week.  We’ve been working on it diligently for several weeks and it shouldn’t be a problem, but it’s definitely been a significant undertaking!

A quick highlight of other secondary life events:

. 1. I was VERY sick last Thursday-Saturday.  99% sure it was food poisoning since it was very similar to the time I was blessed by a tainted salad during the Dole lettuce recall.

. 2.It snowed here on Friday night/Saturday morning - I’m not even kidding.

Other than that ... self-study, self-study, self-study ...
