life these days

Life is good.  We are very busy with an upcoming concert that Dan is honored to be involved with on October 3.  A while back our local radio station approached him about organizing 1000 voices for their 60th anniversary celebration where they would be hosting Michael W Smith, Matthew West and others.  Dan is leading this choir in two featured songs (one of which he co-wrote) and then in the 12 or so songs that will be sung along with “Smitty.”
We are excited to say the least, and I’m afraid I”ll have to hold my husband down tomorrow as we will be rehearsing this large group of people in one mass get-together on Northwestern College’s campus. The details surrounding this event have kept Dan hopping for sure, but he has loved every minute of it.  Please pray that our community in the Twin Cities gets a great big whiff of what God is doing and can do in the lives of ordinary people through the ministry of this concert.  Billy Graham started our radio station 60 years ago, so some of his family will be in attendance as well.  What a cool thing!
On a side note...please continue to pray for Silas.  I’ve posted some on his condition the last few days.  He has been at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis for going on 2 weeks now.  He is off the ECMO machine, off the ventilator, but just today his doctors and parents noticed he was not talking enough, and also coughing very little.  They discovered some damage to his vocal chords, and also to his laryngeal nerve.  This was due to the cannula that was inserted in his neck while on the ECMO machine.  The technicians think that these things will heal quickly, but there is some concern on how long that will take.  Please pray for more miracles for this special little boy.  He has the cutest little raspy deep voice.  We all want to hear it again!
Thank you!
