a change in location
Hello all of you dear "dangieland" readers out there! So much has gone on in the last few weeks, and I've been remiss in updating my blog. You may notice that things look a bit different around here.
I've had enough people tell me that my blog is hard to leave comments on, so I've left the land of iWeb (on my Mac) and have begun a blog hosted by blogger.com. I believe this will prove to be an easier one to comment on now and in the days to come! So have at it! :) I spent almost the last 4 hours transferring all of my favorite blog posts from my "old" blog to this new one. Some of them have the pictures with them, and some don't. It was quite a process let me tell you, but I happen to like organizing things, so it was right up my alley. It also felt like a little purge, which I happen to like as well. So off with the old and on with the new.
Now, on to bigger and better things. MY TRIP TO ETHIOPIA....was in a word, amazing. Life changing. Discouraging in some ways. But a COMPLETE and TOTAL blessing. I met my little boy, and he is beautiful. I still cannot post any pictures of him because we did not technically pass court. This was the discouraging part. Fifteen out of 16 families fell into the same boat of needing another "stamp" of approval on several documents that are part of our dossier. So our errant documents have made their way back to the USA, to Washington DC for a federal stamp of approval, and will make their way back to the judge's desk in Ethiopia. This will all take a few weeks much to all of our chagrin. We do not fault Children's Home or even Ethiopia for that matter. It's a long story, but there are important reasons that Ethiopia is cracking down on some parts of adoption processes, and it just so happens that one of the crack downs happened the week we were there to appear in court. We will get through this, but we will wait a while longer to bring our baby boy home.
We know that God is sovereign, and that alone comforts us in this "hiccup."
We had an unbelievable list of experiences, and I trust all of you had a chance to keep up with each day on Dan's blog. If not, please visit his blog middle:brained, listed in my blog roll on the right. He chronicled each day quite nicely.
Here are a few photos to entice your appetite to travel to Addis Ababa:

ReplyDeleteSo exciting that you've had a trip to Ethiopia and held your son. One more wait to get through - - -
Love all the Africa pictures. I've been, did you know? Our daughter Keri just went to Uganda at the beginning of the month.
BTW - - - blogspot now has a comment "spam" detector feature. Since they started it I haven't had ONE spam get through to my comments, so I turned off my word veri. It's been quite a while and I'm still spam free.
ReplyDeleteYeah you are a blogspoter, therefore I can now leave comments. Love the pictures and so glad your trip all went well.
