adoption update: one giant leap forward

Today marked a very significant event milestone in our adoption journey:  we turned in our self-studies, cultural worksheets, and transcultural/transracial parenting plan.  Now, we will wait for a social worker from Children’s Home Society & Family Services to contact us to begin our home study.

We’ve been working on our self-study for just under 6 weeks (since we brought the questions home from PAC).  It’s actually been a fascinating process of self-reflection and learning.  We’re nervous and excited about moving on to the next steps in our adoption process.

In other news, we spent last Friday evening with our good friends who just brought home their second son from Ethiopia.  He’s a handsome baby boy and it was great to spend time with their family!
